Gouwe Grietje

Markermeer, The Netherlands

is looking for crew for Cruising, Training, Mile building

when: Weekday, Weekend, Holidays (short-term)

from 31 May 2019

One or maximum two people from 25 to 40, who are open minded, relaxed, interesting and willing to learn / participate. No crew experience is required, but i am not open to candidates who have never been on a sailboat (i.e who can get scared with high winds and the boat heeling, or get easily seasick with waves; or get bored if we get becalmed - in a nutshell, no first-timers looking for a test sail). Knowledge of the basic nomenclature and points of sail is not mandatory but desirable. The mood on the boat is really just having fun while sailing, listening to music (often techno), and having nice chats while on the way! The objective is to cruise for fun, we do not race (although we do try to sail as fast as we can ;))

Wight Dawn

Largs, Ayrshire

is looking for crew for Cruising

when: Holidays (short-term)

30 May - 9 June

Looking for 1 or 2 crew to come sail with me & my springer spaniel, Archie. We are leaving Largs around the 30th May and our destination is the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. The route will take 7 to 10 days and will be flexible to accommodate the weather. Ideally we will be stopping off at several Hebridean islands along the way. You will be expected to make your own way to the boat and also make your own travel arrangements to get back from the Isle of Lewis. Crew will also contribute to the costs of the food and drink. You should also have you own full wet gear. I will cover costs of any pontoon fees, diesel etc. If you wish to spend a few days exploring the Outer Hebrides, I am happy to provide you with free accommodation for a couple days. The Return Trip: I will also be sailing back from the Isle of Lewis around the 22nd June, heading back to Largs. Time wise this could be more flexible and the same arrangements above would apply. The Boat: My boat, Wight Dawn, is a 32’ Westerly Renown. She is a ketch, with central cockpit and separate aft cabin. With a coach house and attached doghouse, she has plenty of headroom. I have recently refurbished her with new engine, and new electronics. By time of sailing there will be a new electric windlass and hydraulic autopilot as her wheel steering is also hydraulic. As a ketch she doesn’t point as well to the wind as a sloop but with an extra mizzen mast, the extra sail provides more sail options. She is also a sturdy boat for heavier seas. Me and Archie are easy going and very much looking forward to sharing these trips with lovely people. All that we ask is you are enthusiastic and also easy going....also not being allergic to dogs would be a huge advantage ????

Full Circle

Port Solent

is looking for crew for Cruising

when: Weekday, Weekend, Holidays (short-term)

I am a qualified Yachtmaster Offshore (ex-instructor) and I am looking for regular (and irregular) crews for weekday, weekend and whole weeks sailing in my Hanse 348 (Full Circle) throughout 2019 in the Solent, across the Channel to France and the Channel Islands and all points West. Singles, male or female, are welcome. Contributions to overnight marina costs, victualling and a £5.00 per day ‘wear and tear’ amount is all that is required. All costs will be shared equally and I tend to go for marinas rather than cheap anchorages. You must enjoy the social aspects of sailing! I am fairly mature (some would say ancient) so no ‘gung ho’ racer types please! A good sense of humour is mandatory and you should enjoy the odd glass of wine or equivalent – once alongside of course! All passages will be primarily for social and pleasure sailing rather than racing or storm hunting. You will need to have your own waterproofs and life jacket plus, of course, a sleeping bag and pillow. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to gain experience before sitting RYA courses. Crew members are encouraged (but only if they wish) to take the helm, produce pilotage and passage plans and take the role of skipper. Please send me an email telling me a little bit about yourself, your experience and your availability. My email address is full.circle348@gmail.com. Alternatively, please call me on 07785291855. SV Sparklemuffin

San Francisco Bay, CA, USA

is looking for crew for Cruising, Ocean / long distance

when: Long-term

Greetings! My name is Chuck and I'm planning an extended cruise of the South Pacific in search of warm & lush tropical islands! Seeking one enthusiastic crew member to join. Maybe you?? Let's get a conversation started! :) I'd like to depart "ASAP" but no sooner than myself and the boat are ready - which is looking like 2020 or 2021. Itinerary is flexible and not fully planned yet. It might look like heading south down the U.S. west coast, spend some time in Mexico / Sea of Cortez, then head west to Hawaii, French Polynesia, Fiji, Vanuatu, etc. Anticipated cruising duration is 1 to 3 years, maybe more! The ideal crew member will be energetic, helpful, responsible, reliable, light-hearted, pleasant, positive, and enthusiastic about embarking on an extended cruising adventure. We will need to share the responsibilities of operating the vessel, including shifts, sail handling, lookout, food prep, etc. Ideally you're interested in and available for planning, preparation & practice (this means sailing!) before the journey. Prior sailing knowledge/experience is a welcome bonus, but not strictly required. You should, however, be confident you're ready for the rigors of ocean passage. A little about myself. - Sailing the vicinity of San Francisco Bay since 2011. - Almost every (non-instructor) ASA certification. - Prudent and safety-conscious attitude / pride in seamanship. - Well-found vessel. - Vegetarian.

Felicitas

Spain

is looking for crew for Cruising

when: Holidays (short-term)

Hi My partner and I have a 31ft Golden Hind (bilge keel sloop) in Alicante, Spain. I’d like to do some more adventurous sailing e.g. western Spain/Portugal, the Atlantic Islands and maybe to the Caribbean. I am looking to connect with people who would like to join me in planning and participating in short and long trips at various times of the year. The Golden Hind is a strong seagoing boat, manly were purchased by Americans and were sailed across the Atlantic to the USA. For many years it held the record for the most Atlantic crossings. Although this boat is over 40 years old she has been well maintained (1 owner for 35 years) recently resurveyed and she has many comfort and safety features including an ‘ocean’ rig. If you’re interested in joining me I’d look forward to hearing from you. Regards Simon
